Alison Hammond breaks silence on engagement rumours
She's shut down the rumours
Rumours were rife earlier this week that This Morning host Alison Hammond was engaged to her boyfriend Ben Hawkins, after Ben's father Colin Hawkins seemingly spilled the beans to Mail Online.
Despite many fans taking to social media to congratulate Alison, she shut down the rumours during Friday's (24th February) episode of This Morning, which she hosts alongside Dermot O'Leary.
As the episode began, Dermot congratulated his co-host on her news, to which she responded: "What are you talking about, what’s going on."
The 48-year-old then said: "It’s fake news babes, I’m not engaged.
"I’m so sorry. I told you that when I’m engaged or getting married, I would be first to tell you and I’d be putting it all over the gram and on TikTok.
"You know what I’m like. I’d do a reel, you know what I mean. There would be a ring."
Rumours that Alison was engaged first emerged earlier this week when her future father-in-law told Mail Online: "I do know they have both proposed to one another but there are no rings that I know of."
