Ginno and I received a letter a week ago from a young man called Dean and he is in primary 3/4 of Hilton of Cadboll Primary.

His class have been reading the Flat Stanley books where Stanley travels the world in an envelope.

Sending out a Flat Stanley allows pupils to see the world through his travels and hopefully meet other people and schools along the way.

MFR had received a Flat Stanley a few years ago and Jodie managed to take him along as her plus one to an awards ceremony!

You scrub up well Stan ma man!

However, Hilton of Cadboll fancied a wee change this time and decided to make their own version of Flat Stanley.

The pupils got hard at work and designed a Mermaid to go travelling, it was based on the bronze Mermaid of the North statue in Balintore.

So far Ginno & I have taken the mermaid to Dingwall to see the Staggies and Jodie will be taking her to Groove Cairngorm at the weekend for some fun in the snow.

The Mermaid was a little bit gutted she never met Jim McIntyre when in Dingwall.

This morning we asked our listeners to come up with some more iconic places across the North that the mermaid can visit.

Listen here to hear some of the suggestions.

If you would like to take The Mermaid Of The North somewhere cool then print and cut out your very own and post your picture to the Ginno@Breakfast Facebook page.
