First of all I want to say a huge thank you for allowing me to represent MFR's amazing charity Cash for Kids in the charity round for Miss Inverness PLATINUM 2014. I cannot wait to bling up my t-shirt for the competition, showing my support to MFR Cash for Kids and local children!

I love being part of the beauty pageants for many reasons; the confidence booster they give you, the new circle of friends you meet, the great fun they are, and, mainly for me, the appreciation of still being able to do this at my age! I want to prove it's never too late to follow your dreams -I turn 35 this year and have a gorgeous son, Josh, 6.

Like many single mothers, it's been a struggle at times managing alone. However, I’ve learned to keep aiming for my goals and dreams no matter what. Always keep positive & never let anyone's negative comments drag you down.

I pursued one of my dreams last year by opening my salon, Blush Beauty in Alness. Although it's been hard work, I haven't looked back since. Once upon a time I never thought I could achieve this!

Due to my own struggles and hard times I can fully appreciate how tough it can be to support your children and give them the things they need and deserve to grow healthy and happy.

After chatting with Nicola from MFR Cash for Kids, I discovered some heart breaking situations that families all over the MFR area find themselves in on a daily basis. These families really do want the best for their children, it's not always the case that parents 'don't care' or don't 'try hard' for their children. Things that you and I take for granted, like new boots for winter or gifts under the Christmas tree are just some of the things these kids don't get… EVER!

I cannot imagine how hard that is for both parents and children. That's where MFR Cash for Kids comes in and it overwhelms me how dedicated the team are with helping these children.

Throughout the month April, Blush Beauty, Alness will donate £2 of every 'Amaze Brows' treatment to MFR Cash for kids. This treatment is the most popular by far and costs £14. If anyone wants to pay £15 the extra pound will go straight in the fund pot too.

I'm truly honoured to be part of such a fantastic charity.
