Supporters Cheer On Sporting Heroes
Historic football and rugby successes have been celebrated with Inverness Caley Thistle and Glasgow Warriors showing off their newly won trophies to supporters.
Inverness won the Scottish Cup for the first time in the club's short history with a 2-1 win over Falkirk at Hampden yesterday.
Formed only 21 years ago by the merger of Caledonian and Inverness Thistle, it was the first time the club had reached the final and they partied with fans in the Highlands today.
Supporters lined the streets of the city as the team travelled on an open top bus from the stadium to the Northern Meeting Point in Inverness where they paraded the trophy and thanked fans for their support.
Manager John Hughes said he was ''elated'' to win the Cup.
''I said to the players and I say to everyone involved in Inverness: milk it, enjoy it and get every photograph and take every single minute in.
Meanwhile, Glasgow Warriors returned to Scotland after defeating Munster 31-13 in the Pro12 league final in Belfast.
It is the first time a Scottish side has won a major title and fans gathered at Glasgow airport to welcome the team home.
An initial flight from Belfast last night was cancelled but the players wasted no time in celebrating in Northern Ireland.
After the warm welcome at the airport this afternoon there are plans for a further trophy presentation in Glasgow later this week.
