Search Launched For Missing Hill Runner In Torridon Area

Police are anxious to trace an experienced hill runner who has been reported missing in the Torridon area.

Police are anxious to trace an experienced hill runner who has been reported missing in the Torridon area.

Alexander Brett, 65, is believed to have attended the area on Sunday 20 September and planned to run a route covering Beinn Eighe, Beinn Dearg, Beinn Alligan and Liathach.

Mr Brett is believed to wear trainers and carry either a small rucksack or bum bag when hill running.

Police are co-ordinating the search with assistance from multi-agency partners, including Dundonell Mountain Rescue Team, Torridon Mountain Rescue Team, RAF Mountain Rescue Team, Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) Scotland and HM Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 948.

Police Scotland Dog Unit will also be in attendance.
