Police hunt for dash cam footage in McKandie murder

New tech could offer potential line of enquiry in Rothienorman murder

Police investigating the murder of Brian McKandie are asking for dashboard camera footage from motorists who may have been in the Rothienorman area (B9001) between Friday and Saturday (March 11th / 12th). His body was found at his home at Fairview Cottages, Badenscoth on March 12th about two miles north of Rothienorman. Police Scotland are keen to speak to two men seen talking to Mr McKandie between 5pm and 6pm on the Friday and are continuing to appeal for them to come forward. One man is believed to be aged in his twenties and the other aged in his thirties or forties. Detective Chief Inspector Iain Smith said: "We are appealing to anyone who has been in the Rothienorman area Friday into Saturday who may have Dashboard camera footage to come forward as this may assist us with our enquiries" "A member of the public has already come forward with dash cam footage and we are grateful for the response from the public.
