Pedestrian Killed In Lorry Crash

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a bin lorry. The incident happened at around 7.35am on Bridge Street, Inverness, near the Castle Wynd junction. Police Scotland said the collision involved a refuse collection lorry. The pedestrian who died is male but he has not yet been named and his age has not been revealed. A force spokesman said: Police can now confirm that sadly, the pedestrian died at the scene as a result of his injuries.'' The lorry driver was not injured and did not need medical attention. Bridge Street was closed for investigations to be carried out but it has now been reopened. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
