A man's been killed by a recycling lorry in Inverness.

A man's been killed by a recycling lorry in Inverness.

The pedestrian was hit just after 7.30am (Wednesday) and died at the scene.

Bridge Street was closed for more than five hours to allow Police to conduct their enquires - but has since re-opened.

Bank Street, Castle Wynd and Church Street are also open to both motorist and pedestrians.

A Hogmanay event which was due to take place on High Street earlier was cancelled to allow officers continue with their enquiries.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured and did not require medical treatment.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
