A man has been arrested after a suspected armed robbery in a Highland home.

A man has been arrested after a suspected armed robbery in a Highland home.

The incident happened at about 10pm on Sunday in the Coiltie Crescent area of Drumnadrochit, Inverness.

Police said witnesses saw a man with a gun enter the home and demand money from the owner.

No weapons were discharged and no-one was injured during the incident but a four figure sum was stolen from the address, police said.

The suspect was described as 5ft 5ins, of average build with dark skin and wearing dark clothing.

Police Scotland confirmed a man has been arrested and is currently assisting officers.

A high-visibility police presence remains in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area prior to the incident.

In addition, they would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a silver VW Passat in the area earlier that day.
