LISTEN: Independents To Run Highland Council As Minority

The Independent group lead the local authority after the previous SNP/Labour/Liberal Democrat coalition collapsed.

Highland Council will be run by an Independent minority administration.

It's after the previous SNP/Lib Dem/Labour coalition collapsed when the liberals walked out last week.

This means the nationalists - despite being the largest party in the local authority - will be frozen out of power.

It's expected Independent group leader Margaret Davidson will be confirmed as head of the council.

However, the SNP they are prepared to work with the new administration.

This will be voted on at the next full council meeting.
