Joint Warrior To Return To The North
A large bi-annual military exercise - involving the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force -will return to the Highlands next week.
A large bi-annual military exercise - involving the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force -will return to the Highlands next week.
Exercise Joint Warrior will launch in several part of the UK on Saturday 11th April and will feature 55 warships and submarines, 70 aircraft and around 13,000 personnel from 18 participating countries.
There will also be significant naval and aerial activity off the west and east coast of Scotland, including amphibious landings on the west coast.
Aircraft will operate from several UK locations including RAF Lossiemouth.
Elsewhere there will be aerial and ground activity including airborne landings around Salisbury Plain in England and several other Defence Estate areas in Scotland, northern England, south Wales and central England.
An essential part of the exercise will be training in temporary radar and communication jamming.
