The Staggies lost their grip on the Betfred Cup they won for the first time last season when they failed to qualify out of the revamped group stages and their Premiership campaign began with a 3-1 home defeat to Dundee.
Caley Thistle went down 2-0 at Partick Thistle in their first league match and their misery was compounded when they were knocked out of the Betfred Cup by League One side Alloa in midweek.
McIntyre said: "Both clubs will be disappointed with the starts they have made, exiting the cup and losing our first league game, and we will just try to bounce back.
"It is very early on in the season and we want to make sure we are giving our fans the bragging rights. It is the biggest game in their season and it is certainly the biggest game for the players as well. That is the fixture they look to first when the calendar comes out.
"We know how important it is to the people at the club and we will be doing our utmost to try to get a positive result."
