Inverness have been hit with a fresh injury blow after recent signing Alex Fisher was ruled out for up to two months.

The former Torquay striker suffered an ankle injury during his home debut, Tuesday's William Hill Scottish Cup win over Stirling.

Manager John Hughes said: Alex Fisher has got a chipped bone in his ankle so he will be out anywhere between four to eight weeks.

That's another guy that came here and you're looking for him to do something in the final third, he brings a different physical presence, a runner, but we just need to get on with it.''

Hughes will now step up his ongoing attempts to sign a new forward to help on-loan Swindon player Miles Storey.

He said: We've hit snag after snag, it's very difficult to get someone in Scotland to come up to the Highlands. They want Glasgow or Edinburgh.

We know what our market is, English League Two, maybe someone on loan. The injury to Alex Fisher will hopefully speed up the process but even then the board of directors still feel we need another one, and it's in the sharp end.''
