Up to 200 jobs could be created after Global Energy secured a multi-million pound contract.

The Inverness firm has landed work maintaining drilling rigs for Diamond Offshore.

It comes after £20 million was invested in upgrading its Nigg Energy Park site.

A new West finger jetty has been developed and the existing South Quayside upgraded.

Graham Cowperthwaite, Senior VP Marine & Logistics Division, commented; "We are delighted that Diamond Offshore chose Nigg as their preferred option to carry out IRM services on the Ocean Guardian, and we hope that the facility will continue to play a critical role in attracting such projects as we move another step closer in creating a multi-purpose facility which is attracting developers in renewable energy and oil and gas from across the world to the Highlands and Islands."
