North Kessock pooch could be Scotland's next "ambassadog"

Representing the north of Scotland is 4 year-old Cluanie from North Kessock. He found fame as the Jack Russell who conquered Ben Nevis in a kilt and he has also climbed 59 Munros in the last two years.

From city dogs with big personalities, to Highland pooches with an appetite for adventure, over 200 people nominated their pet for the role of Ambassadog.

Representing the north of Scotland is 4 year-old Cluanie from North Kessock. He found fame as the Jack Russell who conquered Ben Nevis in a kilt and he has also climbed 59 Munros in the last two years.

Cluanie loves nothing more than posing for the camera, posting regular updates on his own !

Now he has been shortlisted along with 8 other dogs from around the country to be Scotland's Ambassadog.

The competition has been organised by VisitScotland who say they're looking for mutts who "convey the spirit of Scotland".

UPDATE: The winner has been decided and it's a golden retriever from Glasgow called George. Don't worry, Cluanie, we still love you. Good dog. Sit. Stay.
