Council Leader says the range of services which has expanded over recent years is unsustainable

Moray Council hope a public consultation will provide ideas for how to plug a budget shortfall of more than £14 million over the next two years.

The local authority has already looked at £24 millon of recent cuts, but council leader Stewart Cree warns that they need to deliver further savings to services.

The closure of two swimming pools would save about £350,000, CCTV maintenance would reserve £52,000 and shutting public toilets would recover £80,000

Library closures could reduce the bills by £100,000, and £250,000 could be saved if a respite care centre was to shut.
