Inverness manager Richie Foran was excited by Jake Mulraney's debut in their 2-1 Betfred Cup victory at Cowdenbeath.
The 20-year-old Irish winger, a summer signing from QPR, came off the bench at half-time at Central Park to join Billy King, Kevin McNaughton and Scott Boden in making his debut.
Foran, whose team triumphed thanks to goals from Ross Draper and Gary Warren, said: "I was pleased with all the debutants. I thought Jake excellent when he came on at half-time, he gives us something different. He's a bit more direct and can go by players with his pace. He has quality at the end of it as well."
Caley Thistle needed a 75th-minute header from Warren to move top of their group, which also features Dundee United, Dunfermline and Arbroath.
"There's a bit we can work on but we're only two and a half weeks into pre-season," Foran said.
"The conditions were difficult as well although I don't like to look for excuses. The wind caused problems, the conditions weren't great but it was the same for both teams."
