Everything you need to know for Beyoncé’s visit to Sunderland Tuesday 28th June.

The legendary Beyoncé will be taking to the stage at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Tuesday 28th of June. There has been a huge build up to this highly anticipated event with tickets selling out in hours and 50,000 fans are expected to turn out for the show! To help your night run smoothly, all of the information you will need is below:

Free Beyoncé posters and face painting

We’ll be broadcasting live at the Stadium of Light from 3pm. Head to Steve and Karen’s Go North East bus parked outside the stadium on Audi Wearside’s forecourt. We’ll also have a life-size Beyoncé cut out for you to take your Beyoncé selfie with and tweet.

What time does the stadium open?

7am – road closures around stadium site in place

2pm – External courtyards open

4pm - Stadium doors open for hospitality guests and early entry ticket holders

4.30pm – Main stadium doors open

What time is Beyoncé on stage?

7pm – Support show on stage

8pm – Beyoncé on stage

10.15pm – Show closes

What can I eat and drink?

To cater to “a different crowd dynamic” there will be a variety of catering options at the venue. A street food marquee which will serve up Texan and American grill dishes such as pulled pork nachos and churros and chocolate sauce and there will also be a unique gin bar.

Metro Information

Extra Metro services will be in operation for the Beyoncé concert at the Stadium of Light, and ticket holders are being advised to travel to the venue as early as possible.

A special event Metro ticket is available to buy in advance to avoid queuing for a Metro ticket on the day. It costs £4.80 and is valid for all day and all zone travel.

Train Information

Sunderland train station is a 10-15minute walk from the stadium.

Car and parking information

When visiting the stadium for an event, you are not able to park in 60 of the streets in the surrounding area.

Visitors are advised to park at one of the many car parks within the city. Most of them are just a short walk from the stadium – see below for further details:

On the day of the concert there will strictly no parking available in the areas close to the Stadium of Light and surrounding roads will be closed to ensure the area is safe for 50,000-plus concert-goers.
