Two more teenagers charged with murder following Jack Woodley's death

A further two teenagers have been charged with murder following an investigation into the death of a man in Houghton-le-Spring.

On October 16, Northumbria Police received a report of an altercation near the Britannia Inn on Newbottle Street at 9.30pm.

Emergency services attended and found Jack Woodley, 18, severely injured.

The teenager, who was originally from the Durham area, was taken to hospital but sadly passed away from his injuries on Sunday night.

10 teenagers now charged with murder

In October, seven teenagers, aged between 14 and 17, were charged with murder.

Following new evidence, a further 15-year-old male was arrested in November and charged with murder.

Two additional teenagers, aged 15 and 17, have been charged with murder. They will appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The other eight have denied murder and a trial has been set for 1 March.
