North East Training Provider Gets Praise From Education Watchdog

A North East training provider has been praised by the education watchdog for its improvement in its work with apprentices and their employers, especially during the current pandemic.
In its latest report Ofsted Inspectors found Penshaw View Training Limited had made ‘significant progress in providing support that meets learner’s and employers needs as well as offering a remote online service during the current pandemic.
The watchdog said since its last visit in 2018, leaders at Penshaw View had implemented rigorous recruitment and induction processes for apprentices which resulted in better retention numbers that in turn contributed to a significant contribution at an individual’s workplace.
Ofsted also recognised that leaders and managers have improved the curriculum to highlight the importance of key skills such as English and mathematics.
Managing Director at Penshaw View Training Limited, Philippa Breckon, said:
“I am incredibly proud of our Ofsted report. It truly reflects the hard work and dedication of all of the team. Navigating the business and continuing to grow through COVID 19 has certainly been a challenge, but, the sheer commitment from our employers and the team has really shown resilience and passion.
Our apprenticeship delivery went from face-to-face to remote overnight, including End Point Assessment.”
She continued:
“We have still managed a distinction rate of more than 70 percent which is a credit to everyone involved. We are excited for future additional growth and most importantly further successful achievements for our learners and employers.”
