The Flash actor Ezra Miller coming to Newcastle with his band this December.
The Hollywood actor Ezra Miller is heading to Newcastle with his genre-bending band Oddkin for a live show at The Cluny this December.
The star, best known for his portrayals of The Flash in the Justice League films and Credence Barebone in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, is set to perform with his critically acclaimed band on December 7th as part of a UK tour.
Having built a successful career in music alongside his astronomical rise in the film industry, Miller has appeared on recordings as a singer and drummer for the past decade.
Formerly known as Sons Of An Illustrious Father, Oddkin is comprised of Miler and multi-instrumentalist Lilah Larson. Under their new name, the duo will release their debut EP on November 19th. The self-titled release comes hot on the heels of their first single ‘Yada Yada’ which was released to an enthusiastic response from both fans and critics in October.
The single, along with other tracks on the EP were produced by Chris Coady, known for his work with the world-famous indie bands, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, Grizzly Bear and Beach House.
Speaking ahead of the show, Miller commented: “We’re thrilled to be visiting the Tyneside conurbation, to pay our respects at the birthplace of the great Peter Higgs!
Prior to christening themselves as Oddkin, Miller and Larson’s musical output was met with worldwide, critical acclaim under the moniker Sons Of An Illustrious Father.
From playing festivals throughout Asia to sold-out shows in Mexico and touring alongside Priests and Slothrust in North America, Miller and Larson’s ability to fuse the personal and the political into one cohesive whole has won them legions of fans around the globe.
They will continue this trajectory as Oddkin, a name that is derived from the term coined by Donna Haraway for unexpected and unpredictable relationships. The term fittingly describes the duo’s two-decade-long friendship. Oddkin is also the word best suited for the band’s community of collaborators and fans; an evolving, queer-centric space open for any-and-everyone.
Oddkin will perform at The Cluny on the 7th December 2021.
Tickets are priced at £10 and are available now from The Cluny website: thecluny.com/listing/oddkin-ft-ezra-miller-and-lilah-larson
