Sunderland fan passes away in hospital
The club have paid tribute to life-long supporter Michael Waggot

Sunderland have confirmed the supporter who needed emergency treatment during their game with Burton last week has passed away.
Lifelong supporter Michael Waggott took ill during the first 5 minutes of the match on Feb 22nd.
Despite extensive medical treatment at the Stadium of Light and being rushed to hospital Michael passed away on Thursday 24th Feb.
A statement on the clubs website reads:
Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this incredibly sad time, and we will continue to offer them our full support throughout the next days and weeks.
On behalf of Michael’s family, we commend the emergency services and our club staff and supporters for their response to the incident.
Rest in peace, Michael. You will forever be red and white. You will be remembered, always.
