Geordie comic Catherine Scott is launching her new stand up comedy show - Mam Up - at Newcastle's The Stand.

A mam of two under 5s, Catherine’s show takes a look at life as a new parent.

She describes it as;

"Between the Instamams and apps that promise inner peace to the dark underbelly of nursery rhymes and the inescapable worries, the show unpicks the pressures of parenting and asks where they really come from and wonders what is normal anyway."

The show has just finished a run as part of Newcastle Fringe Festival, at Alphabetti Theatre earlier this year, and was performed in Libraries across the North East during the summer.

Catherine, who is from Newcastle, explains:

“Being a parent is hard at the best of times, but in the modern age with social media it can feel like other parents are having the best, most exciting experiences with their children, while you’re leaving the house with shoes on the wrong feet and toothpaste in your hair!

"I love The Stand Newcastle and can’t wait to share my new show with audiences there in October.”

Catherine was part of Felt Nowt’s Tyne Theatre International Women’s Day lineup in aid of Tyneside and Northumberland Rape Crisis in 2022 and 2023.

You can find out more about Catherine on social media, and more on the show from the Stand website.
