School Closures Procedure
The information below is for staff members of schools in the Metro Radio region (including Tyneside, Wearside, Northumberland and County Durham), who wish to get their schools featured on the Metro Radio School Closures list.

Metro Radio have many family listeners in each area, making it a great additional communication tool for speaking to parents. This service complements text message alert sent directly from schools, for example - parents that don't have access to their mobile phone or also wishing to check the status of a school that their child's friend attends.
Notifying Us:
Be prepared to call us as early as possible on the day of the closure (notifications in advance won't be accepted) on our dedicate Snow Line number 0191 230 6100, option 6. Lines may be engaged during busy periods so please do try again.
Please note we will only accept school closure information from official members of staff at the school and callers will be asked security questions to prove their identity.
On-Air: With so many schools closing we are unable to mention school closures on-air, however the on-air presenters will also explain that the entire list is on our website.
Online:
The online list will be updated as and when we get information between 6am and 10am at www.metroradio.co.uk/schools. Schools will either be listed with full or partial closure information (if supplied). At the end of the day the list will be reset
