A record crowd watched Newcastle United Women make their St James Park debut.

More than 22-thousand saw them beat Alnwick Town 4-0 - the biggest attendance for any women's league match in England this season

22, 134 watch the match - played in the FA Women's National League Division One North - and the win leaves Newcastle United Women second in the table, ahead of Durham Cestria.

Alnwick Town remain bottom of the league.

The team even got support from a rather famous local pair:

The previous record - of 20,241 - was set when Manchester United played Everton in the Women's Super League at Old Trafford in March.
