Police are appealing for help after receiving a report of concern for a woman in Newcastle. Police received a report that a member of the public had seen a woman being put into a car by two men in Pandon Bank at around 1.45am on Friday, April 8. The woman had previously been sitting on the pavement opposite Melbourne House. The witness said a silver car with two men inside stopped alongside the girl, before one of the men put her into the car before driving towards the Quayside. The men are described as being aged around 50-years-old and one of the men had a large build. The woman is described as being in her early 20's and was wearing a short dress. Enquiries are ongoing into the incident including checking CCTV and making enquiries with local taxi firms. Officers want to speak to the people involved in the incident, or anyone who was in the area this morning and who might have information to help. Chief Inspector Chris Grice said:
"A Witness has told us that the girl appeared to be heavily intoxicated and was sat on the pavement on her own before a silver car stopped and one of the men put her inside. At this stage we are not sure if the girl knew who the two men were, this is very concerning and we want to identify the woman and make sure she is ok. "I'd urge this woman, the two men, or anyone who might know who this is to contact us as soon as possible." Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 93 08/04/16.
