Man arrested following a police incident in County Durham

A man has been arrested after a police incident in County Durham.

Officers had responded to reports of concern for a man in the early hours of this morning in Fencehouses.

As a precaution the firearms team were also in attendance.

After several hours of talks, a man was arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and has been taken into custody.


Officers are currently dealing with an incident in Fence Houses.

A road closure has been put in place between the junction of Lumley New Road, at Woodstone Village and the war memorial on Morton Crescent.
