Newcastle attack - Teen remains in intensive care
Assault took place on Sunday 13th March.
Police are appealing for information after a teenager was assaulted in the Newcastle Quayside area. Around 2:30am on Sunday, March 13, a 17-year-old male was found in Akenside Hill, near to the Akenside pub, with serious head injuries. He was taken to the RVI hospital and remains in intensive care. Police believe he sustained the injuries during a fight in the street that happened shortly before 2:30am outside of the Galley takeaway. CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the area but anyone who saw anything or who has any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 193 13/03/16.
