New winter tipi bar/cafe comes to Newcastle Central Station
A new Winter tipi bar is opening this weekend, offering a unique entertainment space, festive drinks, and delicious food right in the city centre

Prepare for cosy blankets, fire pits, plenty of comfy seating, mulled wine and much more at Newcastle’s newest festive pop up, launching this weekend on Friday 4 November.
Lazy Bear will be serving up a seasonal drinks menu including spectacular hot chocolates, mulled wine and cider along with a full bar, teas & coffees and soft drinks.
A specially made ‘Lazy Bear Spiced Gin’, made in collaboration with the acclaimed North East distillery - Poetic License - will also be on offer.
Alongside the extensive drinks menu will be a range of delicious foods to try, including pies from award-winning pie extraordinaire – Pieminister. Lazy Bear will be pairing its festive drinks with a selection of Pieminister’s popular favourites and a special Christmas menu which will kick off in December.
More than just a bar, the Winter pop-up also provides a cosy cafe experience in the daytime to help you escape the cold with a delicious coffee or hot chocolate. Pastries, soups, fresh bread, and a tasty array of sweet treats created in collaboration with dessert geniuses - The Train Line will include filled cookies, cake jars and sharing boards with toasting marshmallows will be available to snack on, too.
During December, a Christmas event programme will be running every Saturday. Lazy Bear will be transformed into Santa’s Grotto as guests are welcomed by Santa’s elves to enjoy a morning of fun and surprises. There will be games, goodie bags and the opportunity to meet Santa himself.
Lazy Bear is the perfect place for getting into the festive spirit, sipping a spectacular hot chocolate, relaxing with friends and family, grabbing a drink with colleagues after work or taking a break from Christmas shopping!
Lazy Bear is walk-in only, opening daily from 12pm – Midnight closing at 11pm on Sundays. The Lazy Bear coffee hut will be open from 8am for takeaway only.
