The North East is course for more snow and icy conditions over the next few days.
It is looking wet and windy for the rest of today it will turn sleety then snowy overnight.
The Met Office have weather warnings in place from tonight till Sunday night.
Martin Bowle is a weatherman with the Met Officer: "It is important that people are very careful about driving.
"They need to leave a little bit of extra space between cars infront and obeying instructions for speed limits because there will be some snow and ice around.
"The authorities will no doubt grit the roads well, so main roads should be okay but you often have issues with minor roads, which have not been gritted - or cycle paths or footpaths, which could be very slippery - so people need to take care throughout the weekend."
