Four young people from the North East are missing after a deadly terror attack in Manchester.

Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry (left) from South Shields and Courtney Boyle and Philip Tron (right) from Gateshead haven't been in touch with their families since last night.

It's been confirmed 22 people have died, 59 others have been injured.

The blast happened around 10:35pm last night after Ariana Grande finished her sold out gig at the Manchester Arena.

Police say a lone man detonated an improvised explosive device in the foyer area of the arena.

Meanwhile a statement has been released by Hilton Newcastle Gateshead where Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry work. A spokesperson, said,

“Our thoughts are with all those affected by Monday evening’s tragic incident in Manchester. We are aware that two of our team members were in the city last night, and we are keeping in close contact with their family as well as the authorities at this difficult time.”
