Man injured in crash near Hexham dies in hospital

The car he was driving hit a metal sign on the A68 as he was heading towards Riding Mill on 25th March

A driver who sustained critical injuries after his vehicle collided with a metal sign near Hexham has died.

On 25th March, his grey Citroen Picasso was travelling northbound on the A68 towards Riding Mill when it hit the sign.

The driver had been taken to hospital but sadly died as a result of his injuries on Sunday.

Police say their enquiries into the collision are ongoing, and they're asking anyone with information who hasn't yet come forward to get in touch with them ASAP.

They're especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage.
