Man Injured After Byker Shooting

A man’s been left in a serious but stable condition in hospital following a shooting last night in Newcastle. Police were called out to Scarborough Road just before 6 o'clock where the 32 year old was found with a minor head injury and two gunshot wounds to his leg. Officers believe there’s no general threat to the public and this was an isolated attack, they've arrested two people in connection with the shooting: a 41 year old man on suspicion of attempted murder and a 37 year oldd woman on suspicion of possessing a prohibited weapon. Both remain in custody.
