Man arrested in connection with Byker firearms incident

Police have arrested a man in connection with a firearms incident in Byker on Wednesday (March 30). The 20-year-old Newcastle man was arrested on Friday, April 1, on suspicion of conspiring to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life. He has been bailed pending further enquiries. Alliyah Jackson, who is 18 and from Linnetsfield in Walker, has been previously charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear and violence.

She has been bailed to appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on May 6. Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries into the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 510 30/03/16.
