Great North Run 2022: Road closures you need to know

Lots of roads around Newcastle and South Tyneside will be closed this weekend

It's the biggest half marathon in the world - and with 60 000 runners descending on the North East this weekend for the Great North Run, the region is expected to be busy!

Here are the road closures you need to know for getting to and from the Start and Finish lines, and getting around the region.

A167 CENTRAL MOTORWAY - 20:00 Saturday 10th until 18:30 Sunday 11th

A167 Central Motorway. Cowgate Roundabout/ Grandstand Rd Interchange to Great North Rd (B1318 Interchange).

A167 CENTRAL MOTORWAY, GREAT NORTH ROAD - 08:45 - 17:00 Sunday 11th

A167 Central Motorway. Closed from Great North Road Interchange (B1318) to Park Lane (A184).

A184 - 09:00 UNTIL 17:00 Sunday 11th

A184 Park Lane/Felling Bypass to Whitemare Pool Interchange.

A194(M) - 09:45 - 16:00 Sunday 11th

A194(M) Whitemare Pool Interchange/Leam Lane to John Reid Rd Roundabout (A1300).

JOHN REID RD (A1300) - 09:45 - 16:00 Sunday 11th

John Reid Rd (A1300) to Prince Edward Rd (A1300) to Redwell Lane/Coast Rd (A183) roundabout.

COAST ROAD (A183) 08:00 -17:30 Sunday 11th

Coast Road (A183) closed from Redwell Lane to Mowbray Rd.

BENTS PARK RD - 02:45 -17:30 Sunday 11th

Bents Park Rd. Closed from Sea Way to Mowbray Rd.

COAST ROAD (A183) - 14:00 - 17:30 Sunday 11th

Coast Road (A183) closed from Marsden Rock to Redwell Lane (Northbound only).FROM 14:00 UNTIL 17:30
