Fatal crash shuts section of A19
A section of the A19 will be closed until around 10am on Saturday morning after a fatal collision in North Tyneside.
A section of the A19 will be closed until around 10am on Saturday morning after a fatal collision in North Tyneside. At 1:41am on Saturday, July 16, police received a report that a car had been involved in a collision on the A19 near to the Killingworth turn off at Backworth Lane. Officers are currently at the scene and it is believed that one person has died as a result of the collision. Collision investigation is underway and a section of the A19 between Killingworth Way and Holystone is closed in both directions. It is expected to remain closed until around 10am this morning.
