Child hit by bus in Newcastle.
Police appeal after collision in Newcastle city centre. At 8:54am on Monday, January 9, police received a report of a collision involving a bus and a child pedestrian in New Bridge Street. The collision happened near the University building and the child has been taken to hospital to be checked over for, believed, non-serious injuries. The road re-opened at 9:30am. Enquiries are ongoing into the collision and anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 166 09/01/17.
