Bishop Auckland man in court on murder charge

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Barnard Castle.
Emergency services were called to an address at Bowes Lyon Court at around 6pm on Saturday (March 4).
Sadly, Jane Collinson, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her family are being supported by specialist officers and have asked for privacy at this difficult time.
An investigation was immediately launched by Durham Constabulary and officers swiftly arrested a 60-year-old man in connection with the incident.
He was taken into custody to be questioned by detectives, who have charged him with murder.
Stephen Patrick Ansbro, of Barnard Castle, was remanded into custody to appear at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court today (March 8).
