Conditions in the region are even worse than yesterday.

The freezing temperatures and the constant snow has left many roads icy and hazardous.

Emergency services are asking you not to drive unless it's totally unavoidable.

The Metro's in Tyne and Wear seem to be running fine after an earlier problem this morning.

If you are driving today then take care - we had this from the County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue service overnight:

"More accidents in the terrible weather this evening, including one very lucky lady who has been released by crews from Durham & Bishop Auckland Green Watch. Due to the proximity to a very steep cliff, this accident could have been much worse. Don't drive unless essential! "

If you've spotted anything that we need to know about then please get in touch and we'll get the word out.
