12 year old injured in hit and run in Newcastle

Police are appealing for information following a collision between a moped and a pedestrian in Newcastle on Wednesday, February 9

The incident is believed to have happened at around 3pm when a 12 year-old boy and a moped collided on Denton Road.

The rider of the moped continued downhill and was last seen turning onto a footpath near Scotswood Road.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries but are not believed to be life threatening.

While we appreciate the image is not very clear, we do hope that it may help identify the person on the bike and they may be able to help with our enquiries.
