Elmer’s Great North Parade is now open!
Help fundraise for St Oswald's Children's Hospice
Elmer’s Great North Parade brings together businesses, schools and youth groups and the North East’s creative community to present a colourful trail of elephant sculptures, based on the much loved children’s character, to fundraise for St Oswald's Children's Hospice.
The 50 big sculptures will take to the streets, parks and public spaces of Tyne and Wear for eleven weeks from 21st August 2019 with big Elmers sponsored by businesses and decorated by artists. A herd of 114 little Elmers created by young people from schools, youth groups, nurseries and clubs will take over public buildings and visitor centres and everyone is invited to join in the fun.
Here at Metro Radio we are delighted to be supporting this fundraiser and have worked with Artist Traci Moss to design and create The People’s Elmer, made up with thousands of faces of our happy listeners. The People’s Elmer will form part of the trail when it opens.
