We are proud to be supporting Beauty and the Beast at The Customs House, sponsored by Hays Travel! This classic tale is getting the unique Customs House twist!

Paul Shriek, set designer says: “Our collaboration with The Customs House pantomime has gone from strength to strength in the last nine years. After winning Best Costume Design award this year, we’ve taken great delight in pulling out all the stops to create a big, bold and beautiful Customs House panto for 2018/19! This year we have created a spectacular and spell-binding winter wonderland, a scintillating and sumptuous feast for the eyes.

“Beauty and the Beast’s set and costumes are a smorgasbord of flamboyant imagery inspired by cinematic and theatrical memories – I call it ‘Hollywood vintage couture’."

“Originally written almost 300 years ago, Beauty and the Beast has had so many retellings in film, musicals and on stage, but for the first time ever, it now gets the unique Customs House twist." -Ray Spencer, MBE, Executive Director of The Customs House, co-writer and director of Beauty and the Beast.

Why was the Prince of Peterlee turned into the Beast of Cooksonville by the beautiful enchantress, and how was Arbuthnot turned into Henry the hoover? All will become clear as Dame Bella leads the band of merry players through Customs House's take on this well-known story.
