With Easter fast approaching it’s time to think about what to do and where to go. To help you out we've put together five great ideas of fun places to visit...
Easter fun at Beamish Museum
Whether you’re a tiny tot or a fully-fledged adult, Beamish is a guilty pleasure for us all! Who can refuse the free baked goods?
They’ll have a load of egg-citing activities across the museum including baking, crafts and games. Find out how Easter was celebrated in the 1800s, 1900s and 1940s.
Durham Botanic Gardens Annual Easter Chick Hunt
On Sunday 16th and Monday 17th April from 10am to 4pm, Durham Botanic Gardens invite you and your little ones to come find the Easter chicks that are hiding in the gardens.
Choco-motion at the Stephenson Railway Museum
On Sunday 16th April from 11am to 3pm you can have lots of fun riding the Easter Eggspress, enjoying story time with Wilemena Wonka and also take part in the fun family trail. There’s also free entry to the museum!
Lambing Shed Live! at Broom House Farm, Morpeth
From the 8th April to 17th April from 12:30pm to 2pm you can be at one with nature and enjoy a guided tour of the lambing shed and help to bottle feed the lambs, maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see a lamb being born! Great fun for children and adults alike. Only £5 for a ticket!
Unfortunately, this isn’t suitable for pregnant women!
Family fun at Kirkley Hall
Kirkley Hall has a number of events to take part in this Easter, spreading across the whole school holiday. Enjoy the Eggstravaganza Easter on Sunday 8th April to Sunday 23rd April from 10am to 4pm.
Get yourself along to the Zoological Gardens and take part in the annual East Egg Hunt. Buy your tickets on the door.
Head to the Easter Zoo Club on Monday 10th April to Friday 21st April from 10amt to 4pm.
The cost is £30 per day for ages 5-8 and 9- 15 and lunch is included.
