After two nights in Newcastle and seven Greggs sausage rolls, Ed Sheeran has been making the most of his time in the North East and might just be tempted to come back for the Great North Run.
Before Ed took to the stage for his second and final performance at the Metro Radio Arena, Steve and Karen from the breakfast show chatted to him in the 'Green Room'. They took along some local bottled beers for self-confessed real ale fan who has his own pub on his Suffolk Estate and he revealed his trick to opening a bottle of beer with a bottle of water:
"I had seven Greggs sausage rolls yesterday"
Ed and his Hockey star girlfriend Cherry Seaborn have been exercising together so he could get back into shape after piling on the pounds during his year-long break up to releasing 'divide'.
The 'Shape of You' hit maker told Steve & Karen "We eat really unhealthily, but she told me that you just need to exercise during it. I never exercised, because I thought that running looked boring, but running with someone I find actually quite nice, because you can actually talk."
Steve who is doing the Great North Run this September challenged Ed to do the Great North Run with him, Sheeran said "I could probably do Newcastle to South Shields. I've done 10 miles before, but I'm not a great runner I just do it so I can eat what I want. I had seven Greggs sausage rolls yesterday, on the fifth I was like 'that's me done', but they kept heating them up!"
Greggs gifted Ed a box of 50 sausage rolls in honour of his 'divide' album:
The box full of sausage rolls Greggs delivered to Ed Sheeran:
Ed admitted he might be open to getting a sausage roll or Greggs logo tattoo to add to his existing collection of body-art after learning that the Durham based star of E4's Tattoo Artist of The Year Danni Delonco got a Greggs steak bake tattoo on this week's episode.

Questions have been raised by fans after all the Greggs love on his social media after the baker delivered a box of 50 sausage rolls for Ed and his 'divide tour' crew at the Metro Radio Arena, but he insists it's all genuine saying "People just assume that I'm sponsored or something, I just like Greggs. It's not exactly the most fashionable thing in the world to be like 'ah Greggs', well it probably is up here, but I just like it."
We don't think Ed is going to have any trouble with catering for the rest of his tour!
