Northumbria Police issued this statement:

"Police carrying out enquiries to locate a woman after concern was raised have now located the woman safe and well. On Friday, April 8 police received a report of concern for a woman have she was seen being put into a car by two men in Pandon Bank at around 1.45am on Friday, April 8. The woman has now been located safe and well."

5AM UPDATE

Police are continuing to appeal for the public's help after a report of concern for a woman in Newcastle. Earlier today (Friday, APril 8) police received a report that a member of the public had seen a woman being put into a car by two men in Pandon Bank at around 1.45am on Friday, April 8. The woman had previously been sitting on the pavement opposite Melbourne House. The witness said a silver car with two men inside stopped alongside the girl, before one of the men put her into the car before driving towards the Quayside. Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and police have further information about the description of the woman. She is described as white, approximately 21 years old, slim build with blonde shoulder length hair and was wearing a light coloured knee length dress. The men are described as being aged around 50-years-old and one of the men had a large build. Officers would like the woman or the men who picked her up to get in contact as they want to ensure she is safe and well. Anyone who thinks they may know who the people involved are or was in Pandon Bank early this morning is also urged to speak to police. Any taxi drivers who were in the area are also urged to get in contact.
