Two people killed in Northumberland house fire
Two people have died in a house fire in Northumberland this morning.
Emergency services were called to a house fire at an address in Lucker, Belford in Northumberland at 5.39am on Wednesday, December 7.
Police, fire service and ambulance attended and found a terraced house on fire in the village, which was severely damaged by fire, next to the Apple Inn. The next door property suffered minor fire damage.
The fire service extinguished the fire and sadly at this time it's believed that the bodies of possibly two occupants are inside the house.
Police are making enquiries to identify the deceased.
Police and fire service are carrying out enquiries into the cause of the fire.
The investigation is at an early stage.
Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service said:
"Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service were called around 5.15am to a report of a house on fire in Lucker. Crews from Belford, Seahouses and Alnwick attended and on arrival the property was well alight.
Specialist search teams are attending the scene and we are supporting Northumbria Police who are leading enquiries."
