A 15-year-old girl who was swept out to sea and later died in hospital been named as Caitlin Ruddy.
A 15-year-old girl who was swept out to sea and later died in hospital been named as Caitlin Ruddy.
Caitlin, from Newbiggin Hall in Newcastle, was swept off the North Pier at Cullercoats, North Tyneside, by a large wave on Saturday night (January 16).
She was taken by ambulance to Cramlington Hospital in a critical condition and later died after a cardiac arrest.
