Beyoncé fans in the North East have queued for HOURS overnight for their chance to buy tickets for her gig in Sunderland.

The Stadium of Light is set to host the multi Grammy Award-winning star on the opening night of the European leg of her Formation World Tour on Tuesday 28 June, 2016.

It’ll be one of only five UK venues to host the global superstar and has already seen unprecedented demand.

SAFC’s commercial director, Gary Hutchinson, said:

“The hype surrounding this concert has been immense, Beyoncé has created a real frenzy and we can’t wait to host her here at the Stadium of Light.

“I have seen the initial specs for the show and this will be a massive production, with lots of dancers and special effects. **I think it is fair to say that this will be the biggest concert we have ever hosted at the stadium and following the response from fans we see this being a quick sell-out.
