A man's body has been found in the River Tyne in Newcastle.

He was pulled from the water this lunchtime near the Millennium Bridge.
In a statement, Northumbria Police said: "Police were called to Newcastle Quayside today at 12:08 following reports of a body in the River Tyne.
Emergency services attended and a man’s body has been recovered from the water near to the Millennium Bridge on the Newcastle side.
