Body found in North Sea near Berwick

Police are asking for your help in identifying the man.

Police are appealing for help from the public to identify a body of a man found off the Northumberland coast.

At around 7.55am this morning (Sunday) police received a report of a body in the North Sea just off the coast in the Magdalane Fields area of Berwick.

Officers attended and were assisted by the coastguard in recovering the body of a man.

Enquiries are now ongoing to establish his identity and now police are asking for help from the public.

The man is described as white, of medium to large build, aged in his mid 50s, with grey and brown medium length hair and a grey goatee. He has a prominent gap in his front teeth but he does not have any tattoos or piercings.

He was found wearing a Greenwoods waxed jacket, a blue checked shirt, jeans and black trainers.
